On Tuesday, President Muhammadu Buhari sacked
Brigadier-General Paul Boroh (rtd).
He also approved the appointment of Professor Charles
Quaker Dokubo.
In a statement on Wednesday, Barr. Henry Iyalla, IYC
spokesman, said the development has come at a very critical time when the Niger
Delta is in dire need of the implementation of the Niger Delta blueprint.
“We are hopeful that with the wealth of experience Prof
Dokubo brings to the table he will deal squarely with the true and pressing
needs of the Niger Delta to ensure peace that will propel development.
“We therefore, urge him not to play politics with his
position, but strive to introduce programs that will drive the development of
the region and the fulfillment of the core objectives of the amnesty program.
“We wish you well in your new office and assure you of
our support in ensuring your successful tenure”, it noted. (Source: Dailypost.com.ng)
