Ekwueme's Name Remains as President Buhari Renamed a Federal University After Him

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday immortalized the
late former Vice President - Dr. Alex Ekwueme.
The President renamed the Federal University, Ndufu
Alike- Ikwo, Ebonyi State, after the late elder statesman who passed away
recently.
Vice President Yemi Osinbanjo made the announcement when
he presented a speech at the burial service of the former Vice President at St
John, The Divine Church, Oko, Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra
State.
According to Osinbajo, Buhari ordered for the
immortalization of Ekwueme by renaming the Ebonyi State Federal University
after him in honour of his contributions to nation building.
The development came as the All Progressives Grand
Alliance (APGA), South Africa chapter had earlier urged the Federal Government
to name the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra, after Ekwueme.
Born October 21, 1932, the former vice president passed
on last year November 19, 2017. He served as vice to former President Shehu
Shagari between October 1, 1979 to December 31, 1983, when incumbent President
