Help APC End Herdsmen Attack – Gbajabiamila‎ Tells PDP Lawmakers

Femi Gbajabiamila, leader of the House of Representatives has called on members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to proffer solutions to killings in the country rather than politicizing the matter.

The lawmaker reacting to a statement credited to PDP lawmakers that the APC government was insensitive to herdsmen attack told Daily Trust that everyone was affected by the menace irrespective of party.

Gbajabiamila further called on PDP members to stop politicizing the killings but join hands with opposition party to solve the menace.

“The herdsmen/farmers crisis and unfortunate killings of Nigerians must be condemned by all and I mean all Nigerians. The loss of one single life is condemnable and unacceptable. The quantum only makes it even more reprehensible.

“The statement from the PDP caucus is to be expected as an opposition party. I would have even gone further had I been in opposition like I did on many issues then.

“However, I want to invite my colleagues from the other side to join hands with us in the APC caucus and see this as a national calamity that defies party colouration. I am sure members of all parties have been killed, APC inclusive in this whole nightmare.

“Solutions that would put an end to this for all time are being proffered from all corners but I haven’t heard that of PDP yet.

“It is wrong to play politics in moments of national crisis such as this. Whilst I agree that the government needs to be a little more decisive, let me make it abundantly clear that no one in the APC subscribed to or has any sympathy towards the rampaging or murderous group.

“This matter was thoroughly debated on the floor of the House days ago and my position and that of other APC members was canvassed.

“The House rose in unison and spoke with one voice to investigate this matter by inviting service chiefs and holding a public hearing for the purpose of finding a lasting solution to a seeming intractable problem,” he said. Source: DailyPost
